Cruisin' Round the World
See the world, and sail the seven seas, through a world cruise. Most world cruises last about four months, where you'll see dozens of countries and visit as many as fifty seaports. It's the ultimate travel experience, and one which will give you a unique perspective you'll see how diverse the world really is and many happy memories.
The first world traveler, Magellan, had to deal with rickety ships and near-mutinous crews. You won't have to deal with that. Today's world cruises are very luxurious, and between countries you'll enjoy many nights partying, or sitting on the deck to look at the stars (they'll look clearer than they've ever been, because of the lack of smog and city lights).
Prices for a world cruise can vary from 50,000 for a deluxe suite to $197,000 for a master suite. Unlike other cruises it's hard to get a discount by booking at the last minute, but you can get bargains by booking early, and paying well ahead of time. You should try to make arrangements at least six to eight months before the trip starts.
It's advisable to get worldwide medical insurance. You should also bring enough medicines for the trip (if you are on a prescription) and to check the cruise itinerary or program to see what kind of activities to expect and what clothes you should bring. Some cruises have gala nights and fomal dinners, for example, and you should also pack bathing suits and casual wear for lounging around.
